Payment The cost for lessons is a flat rate of $125.00 per month for 4 half hour sessions. When there is a fifth day in a month, that will be an off day. All payments shall be DUE ON THE DATE OF THE LAST LESSON OF THE MONTH FOR THE FOLLOWING MONTHS LESSONS. For example, at the time of the last lesson in January, you will pay for the entire month of February. Weekly payments WILL NOT be accepted. Lessons will not be conducted unless payment has been made in full. Payment made after the 3rd of the following month will incur a $10.00 late charge.
Cancellations/Absenteeism As a student, you are paying for a reserved time slot. If you need to cancel a lesson, you must give me at least 24 hours advance notice to be eligible for a make-up lesson or a credit for the missed lesson. (Credit amount will be $30.00) Lessons missed without proper notice will not be rescheduled or refunded (cancellations due to exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.) Students missing 2 or more consecutive lessons without proper notice will run the risk of losing their time slot to another student. If this happens and the student wishes to continue instruction, he/she must contact me to schedule a new lesson time. Finally, only one cancellation will be permitted during each month (pre-arranged time out such as summer vacations or holiday vacations are not considered cancellations.)
Materials Students are expected to have all of their materials with them when they arrive for their guitar lesson. All materials are available at Music Go Round at 8055 W. Bowles Av. Unit 2C. They may also be purchased through me as I am at Music Go Round once each week. Music Go Round carries all of my required and recommended materials as part of their regular inventory.
Students are required to have:
A guitar (electric or acoustic, I highly recommend something with nylon strings for beginners.)
" The Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1" by Will Schmid. (The version without a CD. I keep these on hand.) More advanced students intending to study in the classical style will need "Solo Guitar Playing 1" by Frederick Noad.
A tuner of some sort (I recommend the D'Addario PW-CT-17 Eclipse available for under $15.00.)
I highly recommend that you pick up a metronome as well. I will require this for more advanced students.
Throughout your lessons with me, I will be providing you with supplemental materials in the form of sheet music, tablature, chord charts and more, that you will need to keep in a folder of some sort. |
